WARWICK, RI —Duluth Trading Company opened their 20th location in Warwick Thursday, opening the doors to about 40 curious patrons, celebrating the event with Mayor Scott Avedisian, a plaid ribbon cutting and lumberjack show.

Duluth Trading Company offers high quality, solution-based casual wear, workwear and accessories for men and women who lead a hands-on lifestyle and who value a job well done. Products are sold exclusively through the company’s content-rich website, catalogs, and retail locations.

The company was founded in 1991, by two brothers working in the construction business. Wanting to simplify how to carry and maneuver their tools from work site to work site, the brothers developed a series of tool storage, organization and transport products. Over the years the company continued to expand and grow, eventually adding clothing and other products to their roster.

Duluth Trading Company’s catalog orders showed a strong local market in Rhode Island for the retailer’s products, according to store manager, Jon Day. Warwick was centrally located, the most convenient spot to make themselves available to those potential customers, Day said.

He said the grand opening had gone very well.

“It’s been really nice,” Day said.

Duluth got a little help celebrating the opening from the Timberwork’s Lumberjack Show, which ran competitions at noon and 3 p.m. The noon show was a hit, drawing about 30 spectators, including a few Duluth employees.
