WPD Charges Man With ‘Multiple Acts’ of Sexual Assault at Boyd Field

WARWICK, RI — Warwick Police have charged a man with ‘multiple acts’ of third degree sexual assault against a boy Sunday at Boyd Field.

Officers responded to the ballfield at at 35 Waterview Ave. at about 9 a.m. for a report of a suspicious male with a younger male in his company, according to Warwick Police.

Officers located both, and investigated the report, learning that a potential sexual assault had taken place at the ball field. Additional investigation revealed that the adult, Caleb Brown, 23, address unknown, had committed multiple acts of  Third Degree Sexual Assault against a boy in the Boyd Ballfield area, according to police.

Officers arrested Brown, charged him with third degree sexual assault and held him for a bail commissioner, since courts are closed on Monday.

According to RI law governing sexual assault, third degree sexual assault involves an adult’s sexual penetration with another person older than 14 but under the age of consent, 16.

Police have not released the name of the boy, nor is it WarwickPost.com’s policy to publish the names of juvenile victims.
